CEP Calls Dr. Stephen Estock as new Coordinator

Teaching elder Dr. Stephen Estock has been called by the Christian Education and Publications Committee, at its fall meeting, to become the provisional coordinator as of January 1, 2013, according to the RAO (Rules of Assembly Operations). He will be presented to the 41st General Assembly, meeting in Greenville, SC, in June to be elected as coordinator to replace Dr. Charles Dunahoo who will be leaving the position, December 31, 2012.

We are pleased to announce that churches are now able to support the ministry of CEP by use of the ACH (Automated Clearing House) for funds transfer. Church treasurers may choose to have funds drafted from the church's bank account(s), at no addtional cost to the church, and establish giving frequencies that meet the giving pattern desired by the church leadership.

When the Presbyterian Church in America was established, Christian Education and Publications was one of the first three program committees put into place. Christian education is a God ordained covenantal process and the denomination established CEP to lead, nurture, and instruct its people. From the May/June 1998 Equip for Ministry magazine.

In order to do the programs and develop the training and resources assigned by the General Assembly over the years, CEP needs $7.00 per communicant member to fund those programs. The General Assembly has approved CEP’s “ministry ask” of $7.00 per member in 2008. Full participation in support would allow CEP to carry out all of its assignments.

CEP encourages donors to use the services of the PCA Foundation to support ministry of Christian education in the PCA. The PCA Foundation offers a variety of charitable financial services to help Christians fulfill their stewardship responsibilities and carry out their charitable desires. Among the services offered are the Advise & Consult Fund (a donor advised fund), Endowments, Charitable Remainder Trusts, Charitable Lead Trusts, Estate Design and Bequest Processing.
