QUESTIONS?!

Unanswered questions don’t go away, especially the ones never raised, never addressed. Our thinking needs to be challenged.  Our values, even those we cherish the most, need to be evaluated.  Our faith must be examined lest we find ourselves losing that which we claim is most dear.

Deacons: Leading Churches Into Pure and Undefiled Religion

The role of deacons is critical to the ministry of the local church. However, for some time it has suffered from a poor image. In reformed circles the office is rightly seen as one of service and helps. But with the growth of church buildings and property, deacons are often viewed more as caretakers of property and less as caretakers of people.

When Mercy Falls Through the Cracks

A church-based mercy ministry benefits not only those who receive help but also those who show mercy by blessing them with the heart of Christ for a needy world.

Serving in the Church: Prison Term or Delight?

Volunteering in your church’s educational or women’s ministry doesn’t have to be a prison term. CE/P has three groups of trainers that can help you recapture your vision, supplement your efforts to encourage your co-laborers, and help set up a means for ongoing support.

Covenant “Stones of Passage” Making the Events Special

By Brad Winsted. How can we give this generation within our reformed churches the memory stones and the rites of passages that mark their maturity to Christian adulthood?

Ho! Ho! What?

By Mike Rasmussen. God has not commanded us to observe Christmas. But, if we do, how should we observe it?

Getting A Grip On Grace

By Jim Tonkowich. We are His workmanship from first to last. Our coming to Christ is His work and our growth in Christ is His work. God has graciously done it all for us.

Tattered Tom Versus Snow White: Two Gospels

By James Sauer. The Bible is a rags to riches story. It is the tale of despicable unfortunate wretches who have been lifted out of the sewer of life, and established into a royal family in the greatest of kingdoms.

Teens and Small Churches

The study, Today’s Teens: A Generation in Transition, details some of the differences between teenagers who attend a church with fewer than 100 people and those who attend a larger church. The findings reveal some striking differences in the spiritual beliefs and involvement between the two groups of teens.

Called to Display His Spendor

By G. Carol Bomer. I not only know the excitement of the creative act—recreating God's beautiful world— but I also truly understand realty. Both blessings are possible because of a living relationship with the Creator, Jesus Christ. His Spirit empowers me and His Word directs me in wisdom as I seek to glorify Him in my art.
