Looking back on YXL Northeast 2010

YXL Northeast Picture - 272.jpgDavid says in Psalm 27 that he believes that he will look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  David’s words ring true in multiple ways during the course of each week.  If we take the time to notice then we can all see the goodness of the Lord on display before us.  Perhaps the clearest example in our lives of His goodness comes when the Lord is gracious enough to answer a prayer that we have been praying. That is exactly what happened when a group of adults from Pennsylvania contacted CEP last year to see about the possibility of starting a Youth Excelling in Leadership conference in the Northeast.  Unbeknownst to those folks, Dr. Charles Dunahoo and his staff at CEP had been praying for quite sometime that the Lord would open up another location for YXL to expand.    After an initial meeting, Brian Ingraham (Youth Director at Reformed Presbyterian Church in Ephrata, PA), Deb Felak (a former YXL counselor) along with representatives from several other churches began the hard work of planning a new conference for July 2010.  Brian and his team headed into YXL Northeast with some level of trepidation.  However, the goodness of the Lord was once again on display in the land of the living as their prayers for the week were answered financially, in number of attendees and most importantly for the spiritual impact of the conference.

Here is what Brian had to say about YXL Northeast:

Wow! As I look back on YXL Northeast it's so amazing to me to think about how God brought everything together. We were so blessed to have solid, reformed based speaking in our daily seminars and evening sessions, a good mix of stretching activities, and a beautiful place to stay (Refreshing Mountain in Ephrata, PA). One element that stands out above them all was how a group of students and leaders from over 10 churches could come together and become so close. It was beautiful to see the body of Christ unite and seek his face. In fact, as I sit here in my office I'm humbled as I read some testimonies from a few of the students from Harrisburg, PA, that attended YXL Northeast. Here are a few of the words they used to describe YXL Northeast: "life-changing, inspired worship and prayer, meaningful relationships, incredible, humbling, and spiritually encouraging." We're looking forward to what God has in store for July 10th-15th 2011! Stay tuned for more details!

Brian Ingraham

YXL Northeast Co-Director

At CEP, we are exceedingly thankful for the efforts of Brian and his team at putting together an excellent conference and are looking forward with great anticipation as to how God will display his goodness at YXL Northeast 2011.
